Go Steelers!

January 31, 2009

steelers8I’m in Pittsburgh this weekend for the SUPERBOWL – the trip was planned before The Steelers we’re even in the playoffs so it’s a great coincidence that I get to see the superbowl with these over-the-top, thru-the-roof, die hard, STEELER FANS.  (Already, it’s totally fun and the game is 24hours away!) Everyone is wearing black and gold – babies, dogs and store windows, et al.

So, I say it’s good for the soul to get so excited about something and what’s good for the soul is healthy. Enjoy the superbowl and jump up and down with every touchdown!

Oh My Muscles…

January 26, 2009

steamboat_14Went skiing in Colorado. The first time I snow ski every winter, I feel “beaten up” the next day. I think it has to do with muscles being cold as well as using muscles that aren’t in my regular repertoire. The blazing fire helps as does the whirlpool. Anyway, I wrote about ways to recuperate post-workout in this week’s Lifetime TV.com post. Click here to read it. Hope it helps all you skiers out there, as well as non-skiers (I think, now with baby Luca, I’ll be a “non-skier” and opt to hang out in the lodge, sipping hot cocoa, for the rest of the year!)

Resolution Time

January 5, 2009

This morning at breakfast, I sat near the window, looking out at the street. Wow, there were a lot of runners. It’s the first Monday after New Year’s and I see resolutions in action. For all of you out there with a fitness resolution, good luck – I’m cheering for you from my kitchen window!
